Mount Allison is pleased to announce the appointment of Lindsey MacIntosh as Director of Athletics, effective November 17, 2025. 

“Working with athletes day-to-day is something I really enjoy and it’s what drew me to this position at 91��Ƭ,” says MacIntosh. “This felt like a natural fit — I love the close-knit community here. It reminds me of my time as a student at Cape Breton University, where you feel like a person, not just a number. I really value being able to see and connect with the people I work with, as well as the athletes, every day on campus.”  

As Director, MacIntosh will oversee the University’s athletics and recreation portfolio, which includes varsity, club, intramural, and recreational programs, activities, and services. In this role, MacIntosh will provide strategic leadership to a vibrant and growing athletics community — one that plays a vital role in promoting student success, health, and belonging on campus. 

“I am very happy to welcome Lindsey to 91��Ƭ,” says Vice-President, Student Affairs Nona Robinson. “Her leadership and experience will play an important role in continuing to strengthen our focus on student wellness and success, including through athletics, recreation, and fitness. Her work will help connect our community and foster belonging — values that of course are central to the 91��Ƭ experience.” 

As a former AUS women’s basketball varsity athlete, MacIntosh brings first-hand knowledge of the student-athlete experience to her leadership role. While completing her undergraduate studies at Cape Breton University (CBU), she served as a delegate at Atlantic University Sport (AUS) and U SPORTS meetings, acted as Game Day Manager for AUS events and national championships, and worked with Hockey Canada and the QMJHL on governance standards. 

Her early career included roles in alumni and development and student life engagement at Cape Breton University before she transitioned into sports and recreation administration. Macintosh managed The Lakes Golf Club and later served as General Manager of the Cape Breton Eagles Junior Hockey Club. 

Stepping into this role, MacIntosh looks forward to being part of 91��Ƭ’s history and tradition while helping to position the University at the forefront of university sport and student well-being. 

“Mount A is such a special place — not only for the students and staff, but also for the community. My vision is to build on that tradition and make sure Mount A remains a place of inclusion and pride for everyone.” 

Most recently, MacIntosh has led province-wide initiatives in Nova Scotia aimed at improving equitable access to ice sports, work that reflects her deep commitment to inclusion and opportunity in sport. 

MacIntosh holds an undergraduate degree in Community Studies (Sport Management) and an MBA in Community Economic Development and she is currently pursuing a PhD in Sports Equity.  

“Leadership, for me, is about inspiring growth — in myself and in others. I believe the best leaders learn alongside their teams, modelling curiosity and openness. By continuing to learn, I hope to show students that leadership is a journey, not a destination,” says MacIntosh. 

Outside of work, MacIntosh loves golf and spending time with her husband and two teenage children. She’s also a proud dog mom to two golden retrievers, who she looks forward to bringing along on walks and runs through Sackville.
