Academic standing appeal form

Use this form to appeal your placement on academic suspension or dismissal.

Please note

  • Students who have been placed on academic suspension or dismissal are encouraged to avail themselves of the academic standing appeal process if there are any extenuating circumstances which might justify reconsideration of their academic standing assessment.
  • The academic standing appeal form must be submitted by Friday, June 19, 2026.
  • Supporting documentation must reach the Registrar’s Office, to the attention of the Registrar and secretary of the Admissions and Re-admissions Committee, by Friday, June 19, 2026. Documentation may be e-mailed to registrar@mta.ca.
  • This is a firm deadline by which all appeals and supporting documentation must be received. Please note that academic standing appeal forms received after June 19 will not be considered.
  • Written notification of the results of appeals will be sent via e-mail by June 30, 2026.

Before you begin to fill in this form, make sure you have:

  • student ID number
  • a list of supporting documentation that will be provided
  • factors that affected your academic performance
  • why you believe you are ready to resume your studies
  • any additional information that supports your appeal

Please indicate if any supporting documentation will be provided along with your appeal. It is your responsibility to request supporting documentation, if applicable, and to ensure that the documentation reaches the secretary of the Admissions and Re-admissions Committee by the deadline.
